Replace your standard electric water heater with a more energy efficient heat pump water heater. An ENERGY STAR® heat pump water heater is more energy efficient because it uses less energy to heat water. A $400 rebate is available to Santee Cooper customers who purchase and install a heat pump water heater. Rebates are available for Single and Multi-Family homes.

Your contractor will install your new heat pump water heater.
You will need to complete and submit (mail, email or fill out electronically) the following to Santee Cooper.

- Heat Pump Water Heater form (submit electronically)
- Heat Pump Water Heater form (email or mail in)
- Receipt
- Photo of the installed Heat Pump Water Heater

Heat Pump Water Heater Frequently Asked Questions
Your contractor must have a South Carolina Plumbing Contractor’s License for you to qualify for a heat pump water heater rebate.
You can only install your own heat pump water heater and qualify for a rebate if you have a South Carolina Plumber’s Contractor’s License.
Santee Cooper offers rebates for heat pump water heaters because they are more energy efficient than standard water heaters.
